Najas is the folk music project of Eugene, Oregon singer songwriter Myco Stassens.
Conceived on a farm in southern Oregon, Najas music' is nicknamed "farm folk" by Myco to describe his rural inspirations, ghostly melodies and storytelling in the vein of Nick Drake, Iron & Wine, Fleet Foxes and Elliott Smith.
Najas released the track "Gift Horse" in 2023, featuring Myco's niece and frequent collaborator Meadow Stassens on banjo and background vocals. The song was featured on Jefferson Public Radio, and Arizona Bay Music Company called the song "a testament to [Myco's] ability to craft vivid imagery".
Najas' will release a self-titled EP on July 17.

Najas' self titled EP comes out July 17
Najas is the stage name of Eugene, Oregon folk singer songwriter Myco Stassens. His new self-titled, self-written EP honors rustic pacific northwest songwriting tradition and establishes a haunting territory of its own.
Conceived on a farm in southern Oregon, Najas' music is nicknamed "farm folk" by Myco to describe his rural inspirations, ghostly melodies and storytelling in the vein of Nick Drake, Iron & Wine, Fleet Foxes and Elliott Smith.
Acoustic guitar anchors atmospheric piano and intimate vocals, with an assist from niece and frequent collaborator Meadow Dawn on banjo and background vocals. Produced by Tyler Fortier, mixed by Thaddeus Moore, and recorded at National Freedom Studios (Chris Colbert, Matt Nice), and Sprout City Studios (Thaddeus Moore).
Najas will celebrate the release with a party at The Campbell Club (1670 Alder St) on release day.
